Ashley is one of many portraits of my nieces and nephews. Every year for Christmas I painted something for the nieces and nephews and one year my mother asked me to paint portraits of each of them. My sisters had kept me involved in their lives and I had many pictures to choose from. The results of my efforts for that Christmas established me as a portrait artist.
